DARK TRIAD

Fraye is a London-based composer. Over twenty years, he has explored experimental ambient and dream pop territories working across multiple projects and aliases recording as Theodore (A Summer She Has Never Been, Lo Recordings, 2005 and Bits of quartz glitter comp., Granny Records, 2007); Hey Marla (These Waves comp., Sound in Silence, 2006) and co-founding Mai, which evolved into J. Wedin’s solo project (Nacopajaz, 2007). 

Dark Triad is his debut as Fraye, a deeply introspective collection of new ambient soundscapes and drone compositions rooted in piano and orchestral arrangements, capturing the sonic atmosphere of a long reflective period. The album is influenced by artists such as Ryuichi Sakamoto and This Mortal Coil and explores the triadic nature of things we encounter, from the mundane to the profoundly complex. It is grappling with the personality traits of the dark triad which perpetuate a lack of empathy in today’s fast-pacing world. Yet beneath these shadows, the Dark Triad offers a contemplative space where listeners can find stillness, reconnect with compassion and rediscover quiet hope.
