“American Unicorn” is the fourth solo album of The Boy released from Inner Ear. It was written, performed and produced by The Boy. It was recorded and mixed by callmelazy and mastered by John Christodoulatos. Vanessa Ferle designed the artwork based on the photos of Niki Nikolakakou.
A few words about the album:
The American Unicorn is a pop distortion.
It’s Alex De Large who laughs away Singin’ In the Rain, practicing ultra-violence in Clockwork Orange.
It’s Buffalo Bill, dressed in human skin, rocking to the sounds of Goodbye Horses in The Silence Of The Lambs.
It’s sinful Mimi Rogers who saw the boy-prophet in her dream.
It’s The Applegates, a family of cockroaches transformed into humans in order to flood the american suburbs.
It’s Catherine O’Hara who forgot Macaulay Culkin home alone.
It’s Brittany and Santana kissing to the sound of Fleetwood Mac’s rumours.
It’s Mark Twain’s clay animation Satan that was banned from NBC.
It’s Jesus who tried to kiss you and pays you to smile.
It’s the talentless stand up comedian, Marty Malt who has a hand on his back and the doctor told him to put plasters.
It’s the shaved head children of Prince of Darkness, waken up by the plague of 1999.
It’s Max Headroom who still laughs spasmodically in my dreams.
It’s the hideous uniformity of the cheerleaders.
It’s the Last House On The Left where we kill beauty and affluence.
It’s The Lost Boys of Santa Carla praying to God not to change them.
It’s Bret Easton Ellis who has the key to the wrong rooms.
It’s Mia Sara who wants to kill the Unicorn and let us all sink in darkness afterwards.
It is he who touched me weirdly when I was young.
It’s growing up in gray Athens in 1981 and feeling like it’s Yellow Los Angeles.
If you say that the American Unicorn is all these, how come it doesn’t exist? I reply “Do you ever wonder how would we be if we did not see the wrong dreams ?”
“American Unicorn” is released in double 10inch blue vinyl (including bonus cd) and digital album from Inner Ear.
