Two years after her first album “Barock”, Nalyssa Green has earned the love of a diverse audience and the interest of music critics by composing and performing her own songs. Her second album, “The Seed”, rewards those who believed in her from the first moment and welcomes the “uninitiated” in her unique musical microcosm.
The songs of this album talk about nature and man as an integral part of it and about how human happiness is intertwined with life in the wild. “The Seed” confronts the alienation of everyday virtual reality and listens to the truth of the elements of nature. It supports the return to normality and is looking forward to the revolution of beauty. The seed’s power is inverse to its size. It embodies every possible future, distant and remote as anything viewed from afar. But it also carries the tangible promise of its realization.
“The Seed” was recorded by Nalyssa, Spiros Livanis (who is also the producer) and Evaggelos Aslanidis in a rustic house in mountainous Corinth, in the winter of 2011. There, they set up all their musical toys and created the songs with a background of a wanton nature, hidden beneath white veils, preparing to appear prosperous and ecstatic with the arrival of spring. The approach is homemade and handmade, with an eye to completeness, truthfulness, tense atmosphere and catharsis.
“The Seed” is out in special edition cd, vinyl and digital album from Inner Ear.
