BOKAVOY

BOKAVOY introduce themselves with their self-titled debut album, a sonic exploration by the music collective based in Athens and Paris, led by drummer Sotiris Tsolis.

Their sound draws inspiration from film music, while incorporating elements of Krautrock, psychedelia, jazz, minimalism, and ambient. The main source of inspiration for the album was the idea that music, as organized sound, can give a scene its final form – a concept that connects the record to the philosophy of the soundtrack.
A soundtrack shaped by sounds influenced by states of prolonged insomnia and fatigue, hovering on the threshold between wakefulness and daydreaming. Compositions written either very early in the morning or very late at night, at the end of the day, within the relentless and noisy flow of Athens. This record was created under an urgent need to be completed before Sotiris left Greece. A piece of music, a soundtrack, of now or never.
“Bokavoy” unfolds as a multi-layered soundscape where instrumental vignettes, cinematic landscapes and experimental structures coexist within a post-rock aesthetic. The album moves effortlessly between the analog and the electronic, creating a sound that feels at once familiar and abstract, real and dreamy.
