Alex K. and Buildings at Night present their first collaboration, an album that emerged from months of interaction and creative exchange in an atmosphere of complete freedom, trust, mutual respect and appreciation.

The major part of the recordings took place in the homes of the two musicians from the fall of 2021 until the spring of 2023. They played most of the instruments themselves, which came about naturally as they sought to capture, even if elliptically, the moods, concerns and the overall spirit of their meetings. Their aim was to create a new, shared space – a precious refuge against a world that is becoming increasingly harsher and more irrational.

Each track on the album intertwines a different sonic universe, with the texts of Alex K. at its core, for the first time articulated in the Greek language. These texts are nesting in a rich tapestry of musical styles that coexist harmoniously. The music was written by the two musicians, while the album was produced, arranged, recorded and mixed by Buildings at Night. In this project, people who have uniquely connected with the two creators over the years contributed in a decisive way. Notable contributions come from Fotis Siotas (viola), Kostas Chrysogelos (drums) and Thaleia Ioannidou (trumpet), while two tracks feature vocals by Kika, who also shot the album’s photographs.

The mastering was done by Yiannis Christodoulatos at Sweetspot studio.

The time has come for this idiosyncratic musical universe, crafted with great care and dedication, to begin its journey into the world, with the hope that it will be cherished as much as its creators loved it.
