After the warm reception from public and critics for his album “Ti Kanoun I Skies Ti Nihta?» (“What Shadows Do At Night?”) Manolis Aggelakis returns with the fourth album of his personal discography (and the second via Inner Ear) which is “O Anthropos Vomva“ (The Bomb Man).
The explosions of the “The Bomb Man” are low-key and operate underground. 10 compositions by Manolis Aggelakis, characterized by the simplicity, honesty and polite vagabondage of their creator. Guitars are the dominant element of the arrangements, sometimes aggressive, other times grievous and melancholic, while tightly tied drums and dirty electronic sounds and noises complete the lyrical chaos of Aggelakis. The themes of the songs are of social content, as always, and together with his distinctive voice and disarming performance, they portray an authentic troubadour recording signs of difficult times with a gloomy nostalgia for bygone eras. All the lyrics of Hristos Kanellopoulos, Dimitris Borsis and Aggelakis himself and the unique poems he chose to set to music from Cavafy, Souris, Livaditis and Tilemachos Tsardakis talk about human loneliness, love, poverty, death … only this time they are more topical than ever.
The album “O Anthropos Vomva“ (The Bomb Man) is released from the label of Exostis in limited edition vinyl including cd.
