She used to declare that Kavafis’ poetry cannot be set to music and that she would never dare such thing. But it was the Kavafian touch that visited her like an electric shock with perfect timing. Her objections and denial were set aside in the cause of daring, but mostly in the interests of creation and its pleasure. 28 years after setting Kariotakis to music, Lena Platonos dives deep into poetry and gives her own timbre and melodic performance to 13 of the most famous poems of Kavafis. Totally surrendered to the poet’s enterprising speech, she invites her electronic and electric sounds, creating thus the ultimate sound theme for her favourite lyrics, built in her own unique way, while Giannis Palamidas becomes the ideal voice expressing the universe of the two creators. The result is strange and riveting as it leaves the listener with the feeling that Kavafis is a contemporary person.

The album was conceived and composed by Lena Platonos while she shared the arrangements with Stergios Tsirliagos, who is also responsible for the recording, programming, editing, sound design and mixing. All lyrics are performed by Giannis Palamidas and some of the tracks feature Stratos Spiliotopoulos on his guitar. The mastering took place in Germany at the Original Master Studio by Takis Dimoulas and Eroc and the artwork was created by Dimitris Papaioannou.
